  • The Evansville Ordnance Plant manufactured over three billion rounds of .45 caliber ammunition during the war.
  • After the war ended, construction crews removed dirt from the bunkers for use in construction of U.S. 41.
  • If you walk around the grounds nead Little Pigeon River, you could see old railroad bridges that lead into the ammunition facility used during WWII.
  • From the 30 acres of this once storage / ammunition depot, only 3 bunkers remain standing.
